Accra City Day Tour, Osu Night Crawl
Start the day with breakfast at the hotel, the come with us on an exciting sightseeing city tour of Accra. You will drive through the administrative and economic districts of Accra, the capital of Ghana. This city has a blend of colonial and modern architecture that summarize her history. Visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Parkand Mausoleum and learn about the great life and works of Ghana’s first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The mausoleum, the final burial place for the first president also has the famous forward-pointing life-sized statue of Kwame Nkrumah. Visit the W. E. B. Dubois Centre for Pan African Culture, where the great American Civil Rights Activist and Author Dr. WEB Du Bois was buried after his long stay in Ghana. You will drive past captivating monuments and architecture including the Independence/ Black Star Square. End your tour at the Arts Centre where you will have an opportunity to use your bargaining skills to shop from an open-air market for artefacts and souvenirs from Ghana and West Africa. The Arts Center is Accra’s bustling hub for all things arts and crafts. Take your time to explore the center and enjoy a range of art exhibitions where you can view uniquely colorful art and crafts made by brilliant local artists. Experience an authentic African market environment by shopping for souvenirs and engaging with the friendly vendors who bargain excitedly and display diverse goods for sale. Continue on to Osu- Oxford Street- Oxford Street, which shares very little with London's shopping hotspot. The only similarity is the volume of people and traffic. Probably the busiest street in Accra, it's the site of bars, clubs, restaurants, and boutique shops. (B, L) Join us for a night out! Osu’s Oxford Street is the heartbeat of Accra's nightlife scene. There are numerous of pubs, clubs, restaurants, and fast-food joints along the Oxford Street. Start of the evening at Honeysuckle for dinner, drink, and chill out. Continue to The Republic, a specialty bar in the entertainment district. Relax to some good vibes, great music, and strictly local cocktails. Continue to the Osu Night Market a hidden gem offering everything from local grocery to food stalls selling local street food from Kenkey and Fish, spicy fried plantain (kelewele) to kebabs. This vibrant market is open around the clock with a different set of vendors for both day and night shifts. Witness the creative use of space that helps generate income for a whole lot of sellers. Kakum National Park and Cape Coast Castle
Drive through the historic Denkyira Kingdom to the Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests. Extending over 360sq km, Kakum is the home to over 40 large mammals and 400 bird species as well as many species of butterflies, flora and fauna. The most popular attraction is the Canopy walkway which is made up of seven bridges extending 330m, hanging 100 feet above the forest floor. Choose between a 2 km nature walk through this forest to discover the wide variety of exotic floral species and the medicinal values they offer or take a walk on the canopy. Embark on a guided tour of one of the infamous Forts, Castles and Slave Dungeons of Ghana. History will unfold the story of the slave trade of which the impact is still felt beyond the shores of Africa today. Visit the Cape Coast Castle built by the Swedes in 1653 and was later taken over by the British. This castle also houses the West African Historical Museum established by the Smithsonian Institute in collaboration with the Ghanaian Government in 1994. Dodi Princess Cruise Day Tour & FLOW International Showcase
Join an early morning departure for a scenic drive to Akosombo. The only cruise ship in the entire country traverses Lake Volta and, despite the name, predates the famously doomed relationship between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed. Built at the Tema Shipyard in 1977 and originally intended to haul cargo, it was converted into a passenger ship in 1991. It has three decks, with the lower one air conditioned, a cocktail bar, an area for barbecuing and even a sick bay. On a good day out, expect photo-worthy views, barbecue lunches and live music on deck. Just 5 km from the shores of Lake Volta is the popular stop, Dodi Island.
